If you have been looking for a floral linen placemat where every piece is genuinely one of a kind — not a repeated pattern, but a unique composition born from the cut — the Ibisco is what you are looking for. The placemat is cut from the continuous fabric of the Ibisco tablecloth: the same summer garden in watercolour — white and pink hibiscus, blue irises, hydrangeas, branches of red and black berries, golden-hearted wildflowers on natural linen ground. In the 16″ x 19″ format, the design reveals a close-up framing of that garden — and the second photograph shows it better than any description: the two placemats set side by side are clearly sisters, yet neither is the same as the other.

That is the nature of the product: the fabric is continuous, with no fixed repeat module, and the cut point determines which flowers appear on each piece. No two Ibisco placemats can ever be alike — every piece is a unique fragment of the same garden, and every set table is a different flowerbed.

As with all natural linen products, small fibre irregularities may be visible — slubs, weave variations, slight differences in thread thickness. These are not flaws: they are the signature of natural fabric, and part of what gives the cloth its character.

The photographs tell the natural habitat of this placemat: the beautiful, lived-in kitchen. In the first, a French kitchen with a cream range cooker, copper pans on the wall, a basket of baguettes — and the placemat beside linen napkins in berry red, ochre, and olive green: the three colours of the design, extracted and turned into a coordination. It is a ready-made styling suggestion: the multicolour placemat, solid napkins picking up its tones.

In the second, two placemats on the dark wood of a rustic table, with bread, olives, and a carafe of water: the simple lunch, set with care. The two different compositions — one more golden, one more white and green — show the uniqueness of each piece directly on the table.

Because every piece is unique: the continuous fabric guarantees that no placemat is the same as another, and the set table has the natural variety of a garden.

Because the multicolour design already contains every tone — green, blue, berry red, yellow, pink — and pairs with any kitchen and any set of plates.

Because it is the most everyday format of the Ibisco design: breakfast, quick lunch, informal dinner, with the quality of a botanical watercolour.

And because it is born from the meeting of two names: fabric by Tessitura Toscana Telerie, finishing by La Bottega di Casa.

The best suggestion is in the first photograph: solid linen napkins in the colours of the design — berry red, ochre, olive green — extracting one tone from the multicolour and making it the protagonist of the place setting. Alternatively, natural raw linen for a quieter register. White or ivory ceramics, always; transparent or green-toned glassware.

On a bare wood table the placemat is complete as it is; over a pale solid tablecloth it becomes a flowering island on neutral ground.

La Bottega di Casa is an Italian home linen atelier based in Follina (Treviso, Veneto); since 2000, a second store in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, has brought the Italian linen tradition to an international clientele.

The Ibisco placemat is born from the meeting of two excellences: fabric by Tessitura Toscana Telerie, and La Bottega di Casa finishing in our atelier — and it is the hand cut from the continuous fabric that guarantees every placemat is a unique composition.

Why is every placemat different from the next? The placemat is cut from the continuous fabric of the Ibisco tablecloth, which has no fixed repeat module. The cut point determines which flowers appear on each piece: two placemats cut at different points will have different compositions — as the second photograph shows, where the two placemats set together are clearly sisters, but never identical.

If I order six, will they all be different? Yes — coordinated in palette, design, and style, but each with its own composition. On the table, the effect is that of a garden: the same flowers, never the same flowerbed.

Is it also available in stain-resistant coated linen? Yes — the Ibisco placemat is also available in stain-resistant coated linen, with the same design: liquids wipe away with a damp cloth. It is the ideal choice for intense everyday use and outdoor tables.

What should I pair it with? The best suggestion is in the first photo: solid linen napkins in the colours of the design — berry red, ochre, olive green. Alternatively, natural raw linen. White or ivory ceramics, transparent or green glassware.

Does the print fade with washing? The print on linen is designed to withstand repeated machine washes at 40°C (104°F). Over time the colour acquires a subtle patina consistent with the watercolour aesthetic. Do not bleach

 [/vc_column][/vc_row]
