If you have been looking for a lemon linen placemat that feels like a botanical illustration rather than a commercial print — the fruit rendered at real scale, the peel with its true texture, the leaves crossed by their veins — the Agrumi placemat is what you are looking for. In the technique that characterises La Bottega di Casa prints, the secondary elements appear in grey watercolour in the background, like a preparatory sketch left visible beside the finished plate.

For the Agrumi placemat, distinct designs were created, each composed specifically to fit the 40 x 50 cm / 16″ x 19″ format perfectly. The images on this page show them: the whole lemon with a cut wedge revealing the flesh; the lemon hanging from its branch with a sectioned fruit beside it; two lemons with white orange blossom in full flower. Each composition is autonomous and balanced for the format — nothing is cropped, nothing is accidental.

The placemats are sold individually: the designs are managed separately on our website, and everyone can build their own set — all matching for a coordinated table, all different for a citrus-garden effect, or a mix.

The Agrumi design is an exclusive La Bottega di Casa creation.

As with all natural linen products, small fibre irregularities may be visible — slubs, weave variations, slight differences in thread thickness. These are not flaws: they are the signature of natural fabric, and part of what gives the cloth its character.

The lemon is the most Mediterranean of fruits — and the most universal of table motifs. The Agrumi placemat carries with it the Amalfi Coast, Sicilian gardens, courtyards with potted lemon trees: an imagery that works at breakfast and at lunch, in summer and in winter, in a rustic kitchen and on a contemporary marble table.

The yellow of the lemons is luminous but natural — not the saturated yellow of commercial graphics, but the true colour of ripe fruit, with its shading and its variations. The white orange blossom in the third design adds a romantic, springtime register. On pale wood, marble, or stone — as in the images — the placemat is already complete before the table is even set.

It is the ideal format for the morning breakfast, the informal lunch, the afternoon tea — and one of the most immediate La Bottega di Casa pieces to give as a gift.

Because the lemon in botanical watercolour is a classic that never ages — but it is rarely executed with this quality of illustration and printed on real linen. This is not a mass-market decorative placemat: it is a botanical illustration on natural fabric, with the depth and softness that only linen printing can give.

Because the different designs allow you to compose the table freely: every place setting can have its own lemon.

Because it is sold individually and everyone buys exactly what they need.

And because it is Made in Italy, produced with artisan care in our atelier in Follina (Treviso).

Solid colours are the ideal companion: natural, white, or olive green linen napkins complete the place setting without competing with the design. A solid-colour tablecloth underneath — the natural or grey vintage linen from our collection — turns the placemats into luminous islands on a neutral ground.

White ceramic or pale stoneware plates; transparent or green glassware; and, for those who enjoy visual echoes, a centrepiece of real lemons in a ceramic bowl — the conversation between the printed fruit and the real one is the finishing touch.

How do the designs differ from each other? Each design is an autonomous composition: the whole lemon with a cut wedge, the lemon hanging from its branch with a sectioned fruit, two lemons with orange blossom in flower. All share the same style — botanical watercolour with grey sketched elements in the background — but every composition is different. The images on this page show them.

Can I choose which design to buy? Yes. The designs are managed separately on our website: each has its own listing, and you can choose exactly which ones to buy and in what quantity — all matching, all assorted, or a mix.

What should I pair them with? Solid colours: natural, white, or olive green linen napkins, and solid-colour tablecloths such as the natural or grey vintage linen from our collection. White ceramic or pale stoneware plates. And for those who enjoy visual echoes: real lemons in a bowl at the centre of the table.

Does the print fade with washing? Digital print on linen is designed to withstand repeated machine washes at 40°C (104°F). Over time the colour acquires a subtle patina consistent with the watercolour aesthetic. Do not bleach.

Is this a good gift? It is one of the simplest and safest gifts in the collection: everyone loves lemons, the format is versatile, the price is accessible, and the quality is immediately perceptible. Two or four placemats with assorted designs make a complete, already-coordinated gift.

 [/vc_column][/vc_row]
