If you have been looking for a Christmas linen tablecloth that doesn’t need red to be noticed, Magnolia is our answer: large white magnolias, pine branches and green berries in watercolour on pale linen ground — a palette of soft greens and greys that dresses the holiday table with quiet elegance. This Italian linen tablecloth is an exclusive La Bottega di Casa design, available nowhere else.

The pattern runs along the two long sides of the tablecloth, leaving the centre completely white. This is more than an aesthetic choice: the open centre welcomes candlesticks, centrepieces and your table setting without visual clutter, while the magnolias cascade along the sides — exactly where your guests’ eyes rest.

As with all natural linen products, small fibre irregularities may be visible — slubs, weave variations, slight differences in thread thickness. These are not flaws: they are the signature of natural fabric, and part of what gives the cloth its character.

The photographs tell two registers of the same tablecloth. In the first, the full holiday table: carafe and glasses, a vase of pine branches, a pewter candlestick, the lit fireplace and the tree — and the cloth falling generously, magnolias following the drape of the fabric. This is Christmas in the living room, the long lunch.

In the second, the same tablecloth on a rectangular table, draped with a green vase and a botanical candlestick: here the design comes close — the weave of the linen, the watercolour of the magnolias, the green berries — showing how the cloth lives beyond the dinner itself, dressing a console or side table through the weeks of the season.

Because it is subtle luxury: no red, no excess — the winter poetry of magnolias among pine branches, for a very refined Christmas.

Because the white centre is an idea that works: decoration where it matters, open space where you need it. Because the palette of greens and neutrals suits classic interiors and contemporary neutral rooms alike — and still looks beautiful in January, when red has grown tired.

And because it is an exclusive design, hand-cut and finished with mitered corners in our atelier: the sartorial precision that defines every La Bottega di Casa piece.

Because the design runs along the two long sides, this cloth is not available as a round linen tablecloth: for round tables, we will be happy to suggest alternatives from our collection.

Magnolia pairs beautifully with our plain linen napkins: sage green to echo the berries and pine needles, white or pearl grey for a quieter register. White or ivory ceramics, transparent glassware; pewter and old silver for candlesticks and serving pieces — as in the photographs. Real pine branches in a vase, and the centrepiece is done.
