If you have been looking for cactus linen napkins with the quality of a botanical illustration — each spine rendered individually, the yellow of the petals shaded like real watercolour — the Nopal napkin set is what you are looking for. The set brings the collection’s design to the most intimate format of the table: four 15″ x 15″ napkins, each with a different composition created specifically for that format. The pad with the great yellow flower and its bud; the cylindrical cacti laden with golden blooms; the spiny prickly pear with its double flowering; the vertical pad with a flower at its crown and another in grey sketch behind. Four framings of the same botanical garden — coordinated in palette, style, and brushwork, but each autonomous.

As throughout the Nopal collection, the design mixes two registers: full-colour elements — the green of the pads, the gold yellow of the flowers — and grey watercolour elements in the background, like preparatory sketches left visible beside the finished plate. The technique of the botanical study, brought to linen.

The Nopal design is an exclusive La Bottega di Casa creation.

As with all natural linen products, small fibre irregularities may be visible — slubs, weave variations, slight differences in thread thickness. These are not flaws: they are the signature of natural fabric, and part of what gives the cloth its character.

The set includes 4 napkins in four different designs — it is how the Nopal expresses its nature best: on the set table, every place has its own cactus, and the whole has the natural variety of a garden, where no plant is identical to the next.

The napkin is the piece of the table you hold in your hands — and the Nopal at close range reveals the full quality of its illustration: the spines rendered one by one, the shading of yellow through the petals, the texture of the pad. Folded on the plate, the napkin shows a fragment of the design; unfolded, it reveals the whole composition.

On the table, the four assorted designs work best against a quiet base: a solid-colour linen tablecloth — natural, grey, or olive green — lets the napkins carry the botanical story. Paired with the Nopal tablecloth or placemats, the napkins complete the family coordination: same watercolour, different formats, a table that reads as a single considered project.

Because it is the most accessible way to bring the Nopal design to the table — La Bottega di Casa’s tribute to San Miguel de Allende, where the prickly pear grows along adobe walls and in colonial courtyards.

Because four assorted designs give the table a variety that identical sets cannot.

Because linen improves with every wash and a quality napkin lasts for years.

And because it is Made in Italy, produced with artisan care in our atelier in Follina (Treviso).

The Nopal rule applies here too: solid colours are the ideal companion. A natural, grey, or olive green vintage linen tablecloth; white or green ceramic plates, or natural stoneware; coloured glasses in green and yellow for chromatic coordination, transparent crystal for a more classic register.

The napkin set belongs to the Nopal family at La Bottega di Casa, which also includes the tablecloth and placemats — all featuring the same exclusive botanical watercolour. Napkins and placemats together, over a solid-colour tablecloth, compose the full Nopal table without needing the printed tablecloth itself.

Are the four napkins in the set all different? Yes — the set includes four assorted designs, four different compositions built from the elements of the Nopal watercolour, as shown in the image. On the table, every place setting has its own cactus, and the whole has the natural variety of a garden.

Can I get napkins all in the same design? Yes, with a special order: our atelier makes custom sets with the design you prefer, in the number of pieces you need. Write to us at info@labottegadicasa.com with your chosen design and quantity.

Do they coordinate with the Nopal tablecloth and placemats? Yes — they belong to the same family: same botanical watercolour, same colours, same style. Napkins and placemats together over a solid-colour tablecloth compose a complete coordinated table; with the Nopal tablecloth, the napkin adds the finishing touch.

What should I pair them with outside the Nopal collection? Solid colours: natural, grey, or olive green vintage linen tablecloths from our collection, white ceramic or stoneware plates. The design is rich: the rest of the table should accompany it, not compete with it.

Does the print fade with washing? Digital print on linen is designed to withstand repeated machine washes at 40°C (104°F). Over time the colour acquires a subtle patina consistent with the watercolour aesthetic. Do not bleach.

 [/vc_column][/vc_row]
