In this context, plastic-coated tablecloths and classic stain-resistant outdoor tablecloths become invaluable allies, as they protect the table and make cleaning quicker and easier.

Turning your choice into a mini-checklist helps you avoid mistakes with measurements, colours that don’t quite match, and unrealistic expectations regarding maintenance, especially if you plan to use the plastic-coated outdoor tablecloth throughout the summer season.[/vc_column_text]

Table type and actual measurements of the plastic-coated tablecloth

[vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1782735632938{margin-top: 5px !important;margin-bottom: 15px !important;}” woodmart_inline=”no” text_larger=”no”]The first step is to work out which table you’ll be using the plastic tablecloth on. Measure the length and width (or diameter if the table is round) accurately and check whether the tabletop is fixed or extendable, as many garden tables change size when you add extra seats.

A well-sized plastic tablecloth prevents excessive overhang, which can get in the way of your legs or brush against the floor, increasing the risk of dirt. Outdoors, a slightly more restrained overhang is preferable to indoors: the stain-resistant outdoor tablecloth should protect the table without becoming cumbersome, keeping the table practical and comfortable for all guests.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”10px” woodmart_hide_large=”0″ woodmart_hide_medium=”0″ woodmart_hide_small=”0″]

Main context of use for the stain-resistant outdoor tablecloth

[vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1782735646382{margin-top: 5px !important;margin-bottom: 15px !important;}” woodmart_inline=”no” text_larger=”no”]The second point concerns how you will use the outdoor stain-resistant tablecloth. Ask yourself whether it will mainly be used for ‘heavy-duty’ barbecues, mixed adult/child lunches, or even for a few more formal dinners on the veranda or under the porch. The more intensive the use, the more a plastic-coated or resin-coated tablecloth makes a difference compared to an untreated fabric tablecloth.

If you’re planning a few special occasions, you might consider alternating between plastic-coated and resin-coated tablecloths or linen/cotton tablecloths, reserving the latter for evenings when you want to bring the same level of elegance from the dining room out into the open air. Deciding in advance how you’ll be using the tablecloth helps you work out whether to opt for an ‘everyday’ stain-resistant outdoor tablecloth or a solution to be used only for special occasions.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space height=”10px” woodmart_hide_large=”0″ woodmart_hide_medium=”0″ woodmart_hide_small=”0″]

Caring for your plastic-coated tablecloth

[vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1782735696106{margin-top: 5px !important;margin-bottom: 15px !important;}” woodmart_inline=”no” text_larger=”no”]Laminated and resin-coated tablecloths aren’t just practical: they have a big impact on the style of your summer table setting. Before choosing them, take a look at the colour of the table, chairs and floor, as well as the surrounding greenery, so you can select a colour scheme that complements the space.

Neutral tones such as sand, ivory or light grey are particularly versatile and pair easily with different crockery and accessories. Floral and botanical patterns complement gardens and terraces full of plants beautifully, whilst stripes and geometric patterns add a contemporary touch. If you plan to pair your plastic-coated tablecloth with resin-coated placemats or fabric napkins, choosing patterns with a harmonious colour scheme allows you to incorporate one or two colours from the tableware and create a cohesive and inviting table setting.[/vc_column_text]
